You will meet your soul mate.
.
Never, ever get a perm. I really can’t stress this enough.
.
You are much stronger than you think you are.
.
Don't be mad at your parents for not letting you wear a mini skirt.
.
Do not under any circumstances date anyone named “Matt”. You’ll have to trust me on that one.
Learn how to do laundry. You’ll really need to know how.
.
It's okay to ignore "free advice."
.
Don't worry, your future is blissfully happy and bright.

So here we are, Jeff's last week of flight training on the Bombardier Challenger 300. It's been a long and wild ride, never once stopping for a true blue day off in the last 3 and a half weeks... and tonight, it gets more intense.

This is for Ben. He has been pretending he is a baby kitty since he could talk. Some days, he goes most of the day meowing. I thought that this would tickle his fancy.

I wish we could come here daily.

And, while we're in the neighborhood, I decided to stop by Penzey's Spice shop. I've read the catalogue, visited the website, and now I had to check out the store! To visit Penzey's, click here.
I know what your thinking. Whoopie. A spice shop. But actually, it was a lot of fun. They have every single spice they sell in little jars so that you can smell them. The boys loved this concept. Every spice received a thumbs up or a thumbs down.

I scored a few great new spices I have never used, and was so inspired to try some new things. I was also impressed with the prices. Very reasonable.

Finally, we made it on over to Bass Pro Shops, we were a little early though so we decided to have fun:
The boys each scored a ring pop for good behavior-- but I had to pass on the hats.
Josh loves this thing.
.
It was chilly, but we had to rock a bit on the porch.
.
Finally, Jeff made it to pick up his things. He was in and out with a flash, giving him just enough time to study. See ya Friday, hon.
I'm going to keep myself busy in the kitchen, and try out a few of my treasures.
The first on my list, "Cake Spice". It's a blend made for sweets. I think I will put a pinch in our french toast tomorrow morning.

Now, we are all up to date on the significance of this dandy rooster apron to my marriage right? If you need a refresher, click here.

It's not the exact apron, Jeff's was maroon, and had his name embroidered on the front, and as I remember it, the rooster was HUGE-- but it's the same idea.
I had to use my feminine wiles to get him to put it on and pose for this picture. I think he's heard my version of the story one too many times. (I thought the giant rooster plastered on his chest was a hoot! It's the whole reason we went up to chat-- I just had to get a closer look. It takes moxie to wear something like that in public!)
Anyway, to make the story short-- Poor ol' Cook N' Thyme had a going out of business sale a few months ago and my mom happened to snag this lil' diamond in the rough with a modest price tag. Thanks mom, we are probably the only two people on earth that will cherish this ratty old apron until the day we die (and pass it down to our posterity. I'm serious, this one is written into the will.)

After a trip back to the Pediatricians office this morning (2 times this week.) with yet another child who has come down with ear infections-- I started to get a little stir crazy! I needed something to do. I need a vacation!
